Manly captain Jamie Lyon has announced that he will retire at the end of 2016 NRL season.
Lyon, 34, confirmed the news on Wednesday at Sea Eagles training, ahead of Saturday night's clash with defending premiers North Queensland.
The former NSW and Australian representative has scored 120 tries in 284 NRL games, and won two premierships with the Sea Eagles in 2008 and 2011.
Lyon played 70 games for Parramatta after being recruited by the club's talent scout Noel Cleal in 2000 before stunning the NRL in 2004, at age 22, when he decided to abandon his contract and return to his home town of Wee Waa in the NSW country.
